As you may know already, Panopticon LITE is something new – a much more intimate, one-day event (catering for 100 attendees only) which we intend to run once in each of the three calendar quarters of the year other than the Autumn (‘Fall’), within which our weekend PANOPTICON itself takes place.

Quite apart from the intimate access to Guests which this format allows, we are designing these new offerings to provide –

  • a ‘taster’ for those unfamiliar with our PANOPTICON panel format
  • a means for us to present some really focused, special content, and
  • an opportunity for us to discuss with you directly what you would like to do and see – and how you would like to do and see it – at our future events.

The much smaller audience means that we can hold the primary presentations in just one part of our venue’s conference area – The Arora Theatre (pictured below) – albeit there will be an opportunity for anyone interested to ‘check out’ the other facilities which we will be using for the annual ‘main event’ (starting up again with PANOPTICON “42” on 4-6 September 2020).

Of course, the other benefit of holding such small events is that it makes everything  much more manageable, so there is rather more scope for direct contact and socialising with our Guests – and, given that there are no formal autograph and photo sessions (unlike PANOPTICON itself), there will be NO STANDING AROUND IN QUEUES, but rather the chance to ask one or more Guests casually for a signature or a ‘selfie’  (PROVIDED THAT (1) requests are kept polite and reasonable, (2) the relevant Guest is happy and willing to oblige, and (3) the situation does not start to get ‘out of hand’ (from our perspective).)

A word about our ticket pricing – Initial feedback suggests that some fans familiar with the “Comic Con” model (low price entry ticket (£12-25) accompanied by ‘add-on’ charges for EVERYTHING ELSE – including photos and autographs (anywhere from £20-£100 each)) are having difficulty grasping that our own entry price (£50 + charges) is an ‘once only’ fee which covers EVERYTHING for the day.

(NB – having looked at no less than ten other comparables – including Gallifrey, ChicagoTARDIS, Fantom, and other, events –  not only is our price DIRECTLY in line with their ‘one-day’ entrance charge, but also it gives our 100 attendees FAR MORE direct and intimate access to the panels and Guests, together with FREE selfies and autographs! (Consider: for all this, other events charge up to £300 for a “VIP ticket”.)

So if you want a TRULY SOCIAL event, we very much hope you will join us!
